Kim Ward![]() Official Visitor for Children and Young People | Kim has 25 years’ experience as a social worker, starting her career in the UK before moving to Australia in 2009. Kim has worked across statutory child protection and community organisations, undertaking various front-line and management positions in QLD and in the ACT; ranging from senior child protection social worker, team leader, manager of a residential mother and baby program, case officer with Foster Care Queensland – Peak Body, supporting foster and kinship carers. Kim has also led teams in the areas of domestic and family violence, suicide response and out-of-home care services. Kim is passionate about social justice and ensuring children and young people are heard and their rights are upheld. |
Tristan Ray![]() Official Visitor for Corrections | Tristan has mainly worked in community organisations throughout his career including 20 years running youth substance misuse prevention programs in central Australia. This work has included supporting young people and families to advocate for policy change and appropriate services and support from governments, justice and health systems and non-government service providers. |
Vickie Quinn![]() Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Official Visitor for Children and Young People | Vickie's experience spans the fields of Nursing, Training and Assessment, Youth work and LGBTIQA+ work within both Government and Community sectors. Vickie brings expertise from a Cultural and Human rights approach with extensive experience in Training and Assessment, group facilitation, crisis counselling, case management and mediation. Vickie has previously held positions with the Department of Defence, ACT Corrective services, ACT Education Directorate, Domestic Violence Crisis service and the Canberra Rape Crisis Centre. Vickie is a proud Wiradjuri woman. |
Dwayne Cranfield![]() Official Visitor for Disability | Dwayne’s more recent experiences have been as Chief Executive Officer for National Ethnic Disability Alliance, Senior Program Manager for Richmond Fellowship “Community Assistance Network”, and Executive Officer for the National Brain Injury Foundation. His earlier experiences include Caseworker, Child Protection Officer, both in the ACT and Sweden, Youth Housing Officer, Counsellor and Youth Worker. Dwayne has had extensive membership with disability and other related groups, councils, forums and committees, and he has been invited numerous times to present at conferences regarding his work and personal experience as a person who identifies as living with disability. |
Clare Doube![]() Official Visitor for Corrections | Clare has extensive human rights experience, particularly in the community sector. Her Canberra experience includes as Executive Director of Companion House, working with survivors of torture and trauma; and past international roles include as global head of strategy for Amnesty International. She also has strong public service experience through time at AusAID and consultancies with a range of Commonwealth and ACT agencies. Clare currently works as a consultant and is also a member of the ACT Judicial Council and Legal Aid Review Committee. |
Kim Webster![]() Official Visitor for Disability | Kim is a qualified social worker and has extensive experience working in government and non-government organisations. Kim has worked as a hospital social worker, a mental health clinical manager (specialising in older persons mental health), was a senior guardian/team manager with Public Trustee and Guardian and most recently was the General Manager for an NDIS registered disability organisation. Kim has a particular interest in the advocacy of vulnerable people with disabilities and marginalised groups, as well as the LGBTIQ+ community. |
Geoff Dulhunty![]() Official Visitor for Mental Health | Geoff has worked in clinical, research, academic, managerial and executive leadership roles in a career which has spanned nursing, aged care and mental health sectors. Geoff has also spent time working as a lecturer, supervisor and researcher in the tertiary education sector. Geoff has a long history of involvement in professional and membership organisations affiliated with his areas of professional expertise. He brings to his current role a sound understanding of the application of policy and care standards within clinical and administrative environments and previous experience as an Official Visitor for Mental Health in NSW. |
Zoe O'Dwyer![]() Official Visitor for Disability | Zoe’s experience has been centered in the disability space, including mentoring young people with type 1 diabetes, and supporting individuals with high level spinal injuries. She has also worked with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime focusing on increasing accessibility of internationally controlled medicine, including for palliative care. Zoe currently works in chronic disease care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, with a particular interest in culturally safe care. |
